Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TagWhite, owned and operated by Refly Technology, collects, uses and protects information when you use the TagWhite mobile application, website, QR safety tags and related services.
TagWhite uses personal and device information only as necessary to provide its safety, connectivity, ordering and account features.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the TagWhite features you use, we may collect or process information including:
- Name, mobile number and email address.
- Delivery address and order information when you purchase physical TagWhite products.
- TagWhite tag information, activation information and information necessary to associate activated tags with your account.
- Account and authentication information necessary to sign in and securely provide TagWhite services.
- Device and service information necessary to provide features such as Mobile Theft Protection and trusted device pairing.
- Precise device location when you choose to enable Mobile Theft Protection, as described below.
- Service usage and technical information necessary for security, troubleshooting and service reliability.
2. Location Data and Mobile Theft Protection
TagWhite provides an optional Mobile Theft Protection feature. Background location access is required only when a user chooses to enable and set up Mobile Theft Protection.
When Mobile Theft Protection is enabled, TagWhite may access the protected phone's precise location when a theft alert is triggered, including when the TagWhite app is closed or not in use.
A theft alert may be triggered after repeated unauthorized device unlock attempts. TagWhite uses the protected phone's location as part of the theft alert so location information can be provided to the user's paired trusted device.
Users who do not enable Mobile Theft Protection are not required to grant background location permission for this feature.
TagWhite does not use location data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Users can revoke location permission at any time through their Android device settings. Revoking the permission will prevent the location component of Mobile Theft Protection from operating correctly.
3. How We Use Information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to operate and provide TagWhite services. This may include:
- Creating and maintaining user accounts.
- Activating and managing TagWhite QR safety tags.
- Providing owner and emergency-contact connectivity features.
- Providing Mobile Theft Protection and trusted-device functionality when enabled by the user.
- Processing and fulfilling orders for physical TagWhite products.
- Providing customer support.
- Maintaining security, preventing misuse, troubleshooting problems and improving service reliability.
4. QR Tag and Calling Information
TagWhite may process information necessary to connect a person who scans a TagWhite QR tag with the tag owner or the owner's configured emergency contact and to maintain relevant service status or history.
TagWhite is designed so that an owner's personal mobile number does not need to be publicly displayed to the person scanning the QR tag.
5. Camera Access
TagWhite may request camera access when a feature requires the camera, such as scanning a QR code or capturing information through an in-app camera function.
Camera access is used only when required for the user-facing feature being used.
6. Payments
Payments for eligible TagWhite services or products may be processed by third-party payment platforms.
TagWhite does not need to directly store complete payment card or banking credentials handled by those payment providers.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information or location data.
Information may be processed or shared with service providers where necessary to operate TagWhite, such as providers supporting cloud infrastructure, authentication, communications, payment processing, shipping and other technical services.
Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law, legal process, or to protect the security, rights and safety of TagWhite, our users or others.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information handled by TagWhite, including appropriate protections for information transmitted between the application and our services.
However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide TagWhite services, maintain required business and transaction records, resolve disputes, maintain security and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it is processed.
10. Your Choices and Permissions
You can control Android permissions such as location and camera access through your device settings.
Mobile Theft Protection is optional. If you disable the feature or revoke required permissions, functionality that depends on those permissions may no longer operate.
11. Account and Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their TagWhite account and associated personal information, subject to information that we may need to retain for legitimate legal, transaction, security or regulatory requirements.
Account deletion requests can be made using the account deletion option provided by TagWhite or by contacting us using the privacy contact information below.
12. Third-Party Service Providers
TagWhite may use third-party service providers for functions such as cloud infrastructure, authentication, communications, payment processing, shipping and other services necessary to operate TagWhite.
These providers may process information as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are subject to their respective privacy and security practices.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, practices or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
